Hello all,

I hail from yet another house today- only this time we are only a couple of minutes away from Grant's parents, which is really nice. The other house sold fairly quickly, and we gratefully moved out. You know, it's nice to get the chance to live in a big house at least once, if only to come to the conclusion that you never actually want to own one yourself. Please don't get me wrong, it's been a pleasure living in each of the houses we have been in so far, but we have found that some are a lot more work than others. The house we are in currently is a lot smaller, but more the right size for a young married couple to handle. It's got a big lush backyard, and is in a nice quiet neighborhood, so we are wondering how long we will actually be in this house. After moving again, we've determined to try to sort through our belongings and downsize if possible, to avoid the hassle of moving all of my little trinkets and Grant's gadgets

This past weekend was fun- Grant and I went out with Paul, Blair, and some friends to Bandimere Speedway to see Truck Fest, where everyone who went came back appropriately "lobsterized" as it was quite a sunny day. It was a very interesting experience, the first "drag racing" event I have ever been to. Not quite the woman's event- I think the guys enjoyed it more than the ladies; but I do agree with one of the guys' wife- some of the colors/paint jobs on the semis were lovely and would look good in my kitchen

Anyway- not too terribly much to report this time- I hope everyone is doing well and staying blessed!

Changes...

Well- It's been forever since the last post, I know. And believe me, a lot has been going on.

We moved from the house we were renting because it sold, and moved into another of these houses. This one is a nice big one just outside the city right in the foothills, and believe me, it's a treat being able to look outside your window and have a nice view of the mountains close up. We have been greatly enjoying this house so far. It's a two story with a finished basement, and we spend all our time downstairs in the finished basement because it stays cool. We've hardly run the a/c this summer because of that! It has a gorgeous back yard as well. I was really excited about the prospect of being able to garden when I saw this house. The owners left their piano in the front room, so I have also been enjoying refreshing my memory on piano pieces

Grant called me one morning from work saying that he had a spider bite, and he thought it was black widow. So we asked several different people how to treat it, and studied a bit on the net, and then started intense charcoal treatments. Thank the Lord, it looks 100 times better now- so for all of you who ever get spider bites- use activated charcoal. It works. Sadly, we never did find the spider that bit him.

At the end of May, Chelsy and her family came up and we got some time to visit together. That was a lot of fun! We went to a mall, and then hiked around a bunch! We were tired that night, (but still had a bit of excitement- some of you have heard the "bear story" ) but the next morning we were ready to go for more. We had a great weekend in all with them, and were sad to see them go back home.

The Smiths and my mother and sister came up a week and a half ago for the homeschool convention, and we were blessed to have my mom be able to spend a lot of the weekend with us. I had fun taking her around town and shopping- it was really good to be able to spend some time with her as I hadn't seen her since February. Lol- you don't realize just how much you miss your family until you live 750 miles away from them and only get to talk to them by phone and internet. We took my mom back on Saturday so she could get out to the Amoses and then on to Oklahoma back to work.

The Smiths and my sister came out Father's Day Sunday, and looked around the house, and then we all went up to Estes Park and hiked around there. We actually hiked in total 3 miles at some 8000 elevation, so suffice to say, we were exhausted when we got back. We said our goodbyes to the Smiths and Rach, who were going to camp that night there, and headed back home.

Last night I was on the computer when I started hearing what sounded like someone tramping around upstairs. So I curiously went upstairs (I have startled a few real estate agents that way, lol) and found out that, no, the house was empty, what I had been hearing was in fact, hail! In the middle of June! And marble-sized no less! It was getting really bad quickly, and covered the ground just as fast with ice. It all lasted probably about 15 minutes, and then quieted down. Grant came home with Blair and they were laughing because it looked like the ground had been covered in lots of snow. We didn't think much of it until this morning, when I went outside to survey the damage done. The trees were all really eaten up, and the plants all took it very badly. Hardly anything has leaves left on it at all, and the dirt everywhere is covered in green particles. So sadly we cleaned up the mess. I don't know how much of it will grow back before summer's over, but I suspect that it won't really be the same until next year. Even my "baby" roma tomato and squash plants were done for.

Anyway- those are the biggest things that have happened since I last posted. Missing everybody, hope you are doing well and blessed!

Tell me- is this normal???

Kind of an odd experience when you look outside, see lush green grass and green leaves on the trees, flowers blooming...

...and snow falling.

Hey everybody!

SPRING IS HERE!!!! Can you believe it?? I almost can't- the snow outside is kinda throwing shadows of doubt over everything, but the weather is definitely changing. I can't wait for the Colorado summer to get here...warm everything up.

We have moved as well! We are now in a nice home only a few minutes from Grant's work, which is great (his jeep is a gas guzzler). We got into a program where we live in the house, but we "stage" it for selling. So, the house could sell at any time. But apparently this area is slow in selling. It is a gorgeous home, though. We're definitely enjoying the extra space.

Other than that, no new news. Oh- praise God, it's rained in Oklahoma! So hopefully no more fires. Please keep the fire victims in your prayers, though- there have been many that were left homeless, and many that were injured.

Anyway, I have to get off here- the internet keeps blanking out, and I have stuff to do!

Happy Spring, people!!
